Chinese New Year - A New Beginning
Today is January 23: Chinese New Year-- the year of the dragon. Today also marks the beginning of my journey to cure and recovery.
My radiation treatment starts today and I am a little anxious about it because of the unknowns. What will I feel, how will I feel, what will be going through my head?
Having radiation done on Chinese New Year's Day may not be very "lucky" in the traditional Chinese sense, but I view it as a blessing from God because it took only one month from my cancer diagnosis (December 23) to the start of treatment. That's considered very quick. And so I'm thankful and grateful.
Being very symbolic (which drives my wife nuts!), I also like the fact that January 23 is 1-2-3. Back to square one. Restart, reset, renew. Baby steps.

One of my friend has all four wisdom teeths removed on the Chinese New Year day. He could not eat during any celebration that week.
I guess it is more important to do the right thing at the right thing.
